How to claim back PPI without a fuss

PPI, or loan protection, is a product, according to my brother that sometimes gets bundled with loans, sometimes by accident, sometimes because there was a mistake.  But if there is a mistake of any kind, or, in my case, I noticed I’d paid PPI and hadn’t wanted or needed it.  I asked my friends what to do and they told me how to claim mis-sold ppi.

It’s also not anything to be ashamed of – if you’re sure that you didn’t ask for it, then you should reclaim it – an accident or mistake on the part of the company really isn’t something that you, as their client should pay for.  And in the case of my loan, I think that there was a computer mistake.  I didn’t ask for PPI, and I wanted to know how to claim mis-sold ppi without having to deal with the company on my own – I didn’t feel confident about asking them to look into it.

It takes a bit of research, a couple of phone calls and a bit of patience.  It took eight weeks for mine to resolve, but most of that was checking the paperwork and forgetting to send it back!  The process was great though – nice and easy once I got my head around it.  The most difficult part that I had was understanding all of the different questions and understanding.
